Bharateeya Vidya Kendram

A formidable team of go-getters worked relentlessly and established the 'Bharat Tutorial College' on 21st of June, 1957 with 79 students and 3 teachers. Later the name 'Bharat Tutorial College' was changed to 'Bharateeya Vidya Kendram' in 1962 and was registered under Societies Act No. 6 of 1962. The schools run by Bharateeya Vidya Kendram are called Vijnana Bharathi Schools.

Late Madhusudhan Waman Moghe, popularly known as Bapuraoji Moghe, the then provincial organisers of Rashtriya Swayam Seva Sangh (1946-1959) was the spirit behind the establishment of B. T. College and it was he who constantly encouraged the members of the Management towards excellence.

Today, Bharateeya Vidya Kendram has 37 educational institutions spread over from Srikakulam to West Godavari District. Bharateeya Vidya Kendram presently runs 5 Colleges, 13 High Schools, 12 Upper Primary Schools, 4 Primary Schools and 1 Senior Secondary School. Besides these, a Computer Education Centre, Yoga Institute and Nritya Kala Bharathi (Dance & Music School) are also being run.

With a view to serve the society by imparting education and to provide self-employment to women in tribal and backward areas, Bharateeya Vidya Kendram has also started Single Teacher Schools, Adult Education Centres, Vidya Vikas Kendras and Tailoring Centres.

Schools run by Bharateeya Vidya Peetham, Vijayawada of Krishna District, Vijnana Vihara in Gudilova of Visakha District, Vijnana Vihara in Nutakki of Guntur District and HariHara Educational Society of Nellore District are affiliated to Bharateeya Vidya Kendram.

Bharateeya Vidya Kendram is affiliated to Vidya Bharathi, Akhila Bharateeya Siksha Samsthan, Lucknow, which has been trying to impart value-based education in the schools run by it. Vidya Bharathi is running 21,663 schools with 1,07,389 teachers and 22,65,756 students.

It also has 40 colleges with 1,000 lecturers and 20,000 students. It is running 2,285 Samskarakendras with 23,000 teachers and 50,000 students. There are 1,686 single teacher schools with 1,850 teachers and 51,300 students.
